Not every dental complaint is an emergency, but some need quick help from an emergency dentist in Rotterdam. Toothache is the most common reason for an emergency visit. The pain can be caused by a cavity, an inflamed nerve, an abscess or a complaint around a wisdom tooth. A painkiller such as paracetamol can bring temporary relief, but it does not solve the cause. If the pain persists, gets worse or is joined by swelling, call as soon as possible.

A broken tooth or a lost crown is unpleasant, but rarely dangerous straight away. With a few calm steps you can bridge the time until you can be seen.
For a broken tooth or molar

Helpful first-aid tips for the most common dental emergencies, such as severe toothache, a broken tooth, a lost crown, a knocked-out tooth or bleeding after a procedure. So you are well prepared until you receive care.
Contact Tandarts West or the emergency clinic as soon as possible. Avoid sweet, hot or cold food, because this can worsen the pain. Painkillers such as paracetamol can provide temporary relief, but do not solve the underlying problem. Read more about toothache.

Hold the tooth only by the crown, the white part, never by the root. Rinse the tooth briefly with water without scrubbing. Keep the tooth in milk or hold it in your mouth against your cheek. The cost of emergency dental care
Dental fees in the Netherlands are set nationally by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa). Every dentist, including an emergency dentist, charges these same statutory rates. What you pay in the end depends on the treatment needed, for example a consultation, an x-ray or treating the source of the pain.
